God's Judgement is not just for the pagans, it begins with His people.

Amos is the beginning of prophets that performed no miracles. nut pointed to the Word of God. Preaching to a generation that didn't have any substantial enemies that would cause hardship upon all the people. Instead they lived much like we did today acting sophisticated, worldly wise, cultured, and proud people that believe they are safe.
